Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1960 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score out of 10 at an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi and later became the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. In 1969, she competed in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three golds while in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. She won four gold and one silver in her senior debut international competition which took place in the year 1975. It was the first time she participated as a senior. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting off the unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol was a professional in the world of entertainment in her teens. She began her career as model skater with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performance that was accompanied by musical theatre.
