Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme, France was born the 9th August, 1976. Audrey is the eldest child out of 4. From a very young age, her dentist doctor parents as well as her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theatre and drama. This passion that overshadowed her initial wish to be primatologist. The rise was swift for her to become an internationally renowned young actor. In 1998 after her studies, she took part in the French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. Tautou, who attended in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and studied there at young age she has since renounced her Catholic education. Now, she says she is not a Catholic. She has pursued a modeling career along with her acting career. She is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she produced a recent exhibition in The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. The focus of her photography is famous people, the media and press that scrutinised her following her fame-making debut in the film Amelie. There are also several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou's international popularity and success exploded following her appearance as Amelie Poulain's lead lady in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie made international waves on the screen and won awards around the globe. It is the most successful French language film to date in the US. In the wake of this achievement, Tautou was featured in a wide range of films including British dramatics like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
